Blogging!

Sep 8, 2013 12:50pm

After a hiatus of about a year, I have begun blogging again. I wanted to post a batch of drawings I had done just prior to my stroke and bring the blog up-to-date. You can see the sketches, done around last Christmas, on this post HERE.

I also talk about a little creative re-direction I will be making. For obvious reasons, my ability to draw is not what it once was, and though I have every hope that it will come back, while I am getting back in form, I have some other creative projects to pursue. I hope to post those projects on my blog too.

I’ve spent a fair bit of time over the last few weeks and months writing, not just on here, but also little personal recollections from my childhood, for my own amusement. I have posted a few such stories on my blog in the past, and I even published one of them as a comic book a few years ago (about my dog “JOCK”) and I think I’m going to do a lot more of that in future, perhaps to be assembled into a bigger collection.

I should have a new story (about that skallywag Jock, no less) to post on my blog in a week or so, and I will likely cross-post it here too..

See you then!

  2. I look forward to reading your stories! And keep on practicing on the art, every day–when you’re ready to show, I’m ready to look!

  3. Dear Boy,
“Ah yes, I remember it well”, to quote that other old fart, in ‘Gigi’. I’m referring, of course, to your and Mum’s adventures with the Hair Magician. To quote yet another singing old fart: “Thanks for the memory”; your ability to capture the past in text is every bit the equal of your art. We look forward to further adventures of Jock, as we regard the one already on the streets as a little masterpiece.
Best love to you and Julia,

  4. Hi James!!
    Sounds great!
Can’t wait to read anything that you write. I’m sure it will be delightful.
You’ll need to charge us for the privilege of reading your stuff!
I need to catch up with your blog…….haven’t even seen it yet.
As soon as you write something that you don’t want to illustrate yourself one day, but that you’d like to sell, just shout.
big hugs from cold and damp London Phil
