Thanks, dear boy. I agree on the photographic appeal itself; but more especially on the emotional appeal of the sight of those hands, and (as for yourself) the memory of the dear old man’s dear old noggin. And I knew them young, too.

Wendy and I are here overnight at Marg and Keith’s on our way from a quick visit to Blaxland. Marg sends love and her approval of your use of her photography. Have also just greatly enjoyed getting sidetracked from your Star Wars Party stuff into Julia’s stunning artwork. Please give her our love too.

As strange as it may seem James, I have a print of 'Phar Lap' at home that was autographed by those hands! Actually… two copies of it and both signed… I bought them from the Melbourne Museum when I went down there for the Melbourne Cup in 1984 and at the time some friends were living next door to him and said they would get them signed, seeing as your grand father was the last living person to win a race on Phar Lap.
