Patrick>> Yes, i am back in San Francisco. I enjoyed my time in LA but the taxi ride from the airport into the city almost brought a tear to my eye, I was so happy to be back.

To put that touching moment into perspective; within 24 hours I was engaged in one of those "only in San Francisco" moments when a group of us were accosted on the street by a yammering Tenderloin crazy who flung a cooler full of beer bottles at us after we refused to buy any of them.

Ah.... San Francisco

Sho>> John Hays eh? I guess they both have that General custer thing going on a bit...

Don>> Thanks for all that super information. I was very fascinated by the fact that I was walking around on such "hallowed ground" in Culver City but all the moreso because it is not remarked upon much by the LA locals.

For those interested in Culver City locations, there's a clip on YouTube that features a CGI recreation of Main Street as seen in the Laurel and Hardy shorts of the twenties at http://tinyurl.com/2tw22h and a reprint of the article that accompanies the clip at http://tinyurl.com/2cb8kr. Also recommended: the books "Silent Echoes" and "Silent Traces by John Bengston and Kevin Brownlow, featuring locations used in Keaton and Chaplin films.
