Amelia, thank you so much for posting. I am glad that you enjoyed the con and especially happy that you enjoyed my book. Rocket Rabbit and Wallace and Gromit mentioned in the same sentance! that really makes my day.

Hey Jamie! It was really great talking with you again this year. I'm really glad I got ROCKET RABBIT this year because it's hilarious!! I picked it up and started giggling almost immediately...my mom was sitting next to me and otherwise the room was silent, so it was just me sitting there laughing. I have to let her read it sometime too.
Thanks again and hope to see you again soon!
Wallace and Gromit rocks!
So does Rocket and the Professor!

Jamie - a BLAST to see you at the Con and thanks to you we had a home base at Comic-Con - always important when venturing out into the perils of a crowded con wearing vinyl...
Loved the recap, the mysteries of sales at con would be a good topic to revisit.
Have you all checked out Nervebomb's HOT Tshirts? The whole booth had some fabulous stuff!
til next time Mr Baker
luv & spankins

Jamie

Wow, that was a really cool WonderCon wrap up! The Abismo CEO and CFO (whatever that means!) is one busy man. But sounds like you had a ball there yourself. Ya got a very breezy way of communicating on the web, sounds like you're right across the table from me!

Looking forward to new Baker(ed) Goods! ...ouch..!!

Chris, thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts. I agree with you that the costumes are a large part of the fun of conventions.

A lot of my "too cool for school" pals are made uncomfortable by all the "nerds in outfits", and see them as something to suffer through in order to buy comics or meet artists. But in my opinion the dressing up is what makes it feel like a festival, a celebration, a special ocassion.

People dress up at festivals, at sporting matches, carnivals and parades.Try to imagine "Carnivale" or the "Cherry Blossom Festival" or the "Macy's parade" without out the costumes... it would just be a bunch of people walking down the street.

Likewise, if you took all the costumes away from a comics convention, you'd just be left with a cavernous space full of people buying comics. Where is the fun in that?

This was a great post about Wondercon. I loved all that you covered in it. Oddly, my very favorite picture was the one with you and Spiderman and his dad. It just really summed up what a fun comic convention can be (as opposed to your typical Simpsons' Comic Book Guy').

This is a great blog!
